What dragons have is what dragons do,
is what those who tamed them knew.
Treasures are things which they accrew,
things which others had shinny new.
Tame them young, tame them strong,
tame them to know right from wrong,
but will come the day when tether’s gone,
they’ll revert to creature yearnings strong.
They’ll fill a hidden cavern to the brim,
with every shiny bauble and precious whim,
to satisfy that inner greedy notion from within,
to possess all life’s golden jewels, just for him.
